Tough Times

Posted in *From My Heart*, Tough Day on February 12, 2008 by taiyang43

It has been a long time since I have posted anything to my blog.  Well things lately have not been good.  On the outside everything is cool, but on the inside I hurt or maybe not hurt, but I am distressed.  Well not even distressed I have no idea what word I am looking for, but my mind has like 400 things floating through it right now.  Things from relationships, my job, finances to everything in between.  Well I am supposed to go snowboarding up in Tahoe this weekend so that should be relaxing for me and help to ease my mind.  Well anyways, back to class…

I am here in Taiwan :D

Hey Everybody which is only about 4 of you out  there.  I made it to Taiwan ok.  We are teaching somewhere out in the sticks. We are in I-Lan which is about an hour and a half outside of Taipei.  The people out here are very nice, but around where we live there is little to do.  It is all good though.  We are putting together a weekend trip to Taipei to go check out the local sites. Well gotta go and teach two more classes after lunch and a conversational period.  Oh man my head hurts.  Too Much to do!!!  I don’t like being in charge to many people to meet with and too much red tape to cut through.  I am outty now.  Choocher I got a place for me to stay when you come.

To Attain the Unattainable!

Posted in *From My Heart* on May 22, 2007 by taiyang43

Those I desire, I can not attain; those I can attain, I do not desire!

I see her, as beautiful as a butterfly. My heart on high begins to soar.

An oath unto my dreaming heart is taken,One that only death can make me forsake.

 I pledge…

I will win the love of dear butterfly some day.Her nectar is like sweet honey.

I have won the love of dear butterfly…HOWEVER; her nectar is like sweet…

Sweet POISON!

Cold Day for Snowboarding, but Fun!!!

Posted in Today was a... on January 16, 2007 by taiyang43

Today I went snowboarding up at Mt. High in Wrightwood, Ca. It was cold. When we got there today the temperature was 23 degrees F. At the top of the mountain it was around 13 degrees F. The conditions were not too bad. I will be sore for about a week though because I got rolled up off a jump. I landed straight on my left Buddy Cheek. I tried to get up quickly and I tried to keep boarding. I almost had the wind knocked out of me, and my stuff still hurts. It was Sweet!!!! Here is a video of me just carving. I am not very good, but I love to just carve… My right binding was loose going down the hill on this trip. But I managed to make it down ok. I hope you can see it….

How to spend your Christmas and New Year

long course

I played ok that day. On Friday I played a Beautiful Course just outside of Kaohsiung City. This course was long but easy to play. It did not cost very much either. I think by the time all was said and done I paid about $70 US dollars. That was cheap for a Caddy (she actually knew the course and what clubs to use. All Caddies in Taiwan are females over the age of 45. It is crazy to see, but they are so friendly and nice.) , golf cart, club house locker and locker room, excellent service from the staff, and just a wonderful location. You could not find anything like that back in the States. Well next time some of my hommies come to Taiwan I can take them there. Now that the HSR (High Speed Railway) is going to be operational on Tuesday you can get from Taibei to Kaohsiung in about an hour and a half. So cool. Well I have had a wonderful 2 weeks here in Taiwan. Too bad I must go back. But I have seen and learned a lot here in 2 weeks. It has been totally fun. I just wish could play that course everyday. :D

Christmas in Taiwan

Posted in Today was a..., Uncategorized on December 27, 2006 by taiyang43

This year I was not home for Christmas.  I apologise to my mom, and sister for not being there on Christmas, but sometimes you have got to do what you have got to do.  Well my Christmas was very different.  The love of family and friends was not there.  The day was just weird.  I was surprised to see how many people had Christmas decorations up.  I was even at a Buddhist temple and they had a Christmas tree up at the temple.  I took several pics of that one.  It is just so different to celebrate it in a traditionally non-Christian country.  If ever I am back here again for Christmas I think I am going to bring my family with me. :D

Tuesday night was different too… I was sitting in the lobby of an apartment building in the middle of downtown Kaohsiung when I feel the couch that I am sitting on start to move.  I was like hummmm that is a feeling that I have not felt in a few years.  Then In my mind I was thinking no way it could not be and sure enough it was…. AN EARTHQUAKE!!!!!!  I was like no way?!?!?!  I had no idea what to do.  You see all the time in the news how these earthquakes hit asian or middle eastern countries and you just see crumbled building after crumbled building.  So I am thinking oh man this is it… So then I run outside and I am in a worse position maybe.  I am on a small narrow street that only one car at a time can fit down and look up…  My goodness I was like ok something is falling straight on to you.  Well I ran about 50 feet towards a main street and found myself just steps away from a hospital.  So I was in better shape then, and less power lines and tall buildings were around so I felt a little safer.  hehehe  That was crazy tho to experience.  The first quake lasted about 30-40 seconds but the aftershock was almost 4 minutes long.  This hit about 10 minutes after the initial quake.  The aftershock was just a long rumbler.  Man it was crazy though, people were coming out of everywhere and the phone lines did not work.  My cell phone was cut off during the middle of a phone call back home to my mom to tell her about the first quake when the second one hit.  Well yesterday I heard that there was another big aftershock, but I did not feel it cuz I was out on the golf course.  That was fun, but man I got it handed to me again.  I had not picked up a club in about 4 or 5 months.  It felt good, but it was crazy!  Well Iam having a great time here.  It has been so much fun!  I am trying to figure out the school system, but that is a little slow in coming.  Well I have got to go now to try and get some money from the bank.  I could not withdraw money yesterday from the ATM so I have to exchange my cash!  Well later from Taiwan and have a Happy New Year!

I slept well last night and for the first time since September I did not have to set my alarm clock to wake up this morning. I still got up around 9:30 or so. Well in the Annual Turkey Bowl game this year the Red team beat the Black team in Overtime. It was another classic battle. Thanks to Tim for reffing the game for us too. I thank God too that there were no major injuries also. AJ seperated his shoulder in the first half, but was able to pop it back into place and then played the rest of the game. I am sure that he is very sore now.
Oh ya my team won yesterday, and Texas Lost yesterday so thanks Long Horns!!! Now OU has a shot to go to the Big 12 championship game. 27-21 with a minute and 3 seconds left in the game. OSU has to go 55 yards to score. Go OU!!! I think that if OU played Texas now in the Red River Shoot Out that OU would win even without AP. I think OU was 3 and 1 or 4 and 1 against Texas schools this year!!! So I think once again they are Texas State Champs. hahahaha Boomer Sooner!!!!

I never used to dislike the ducks, but ever since Oregon ran off of the field as if they were the ones to actually have a real comeback, I have not liked them or their UGLY uniforms. Talk about stealing one, the ducks really did. John Lee I am glad that I did not take 3 days off from work to go up to Oregon and watch that ugly mess. I would still be having nightmares about it. I might have crashed my car driving back to Cali. :p I still have a bad taste in my mouth. Well down with Texas (somebody better not be wearin’ no burnt orange now~ that is all I got to say!!!) BOOMER SOONER!!!! Holla Back Ya’ll!!! hahaha
